fusion..FUSION!

Linked from : https://lasers.llnl.gov/about/nif/

"NIF's 192 giant lasers, housed in a ten-story building the size of three football fields, will deliver at least 60 times more energy than any previous laser system. When all of its beams are fully operational, NIF will focus nearly two million joules of ultraviolet laser energy on a tiny target in the center of its target chamber – creating conditions similar to those that exist only in the cores of stars and giant planets and inside a nuclear weapon. The resulting fusion reaction will release many times more energy than the laser energy required to initiate the reaction."

Wow, quite the system they have there.  Needless to say, the discovery of fusion would change the world in ways I cant even imagine.

Nothing too exciting, but cool enough!

one of my favorites

One of my favorite "robots" of all time is the exoskeleton loader from the movie "Aliens".
I mean seriously; this thing is awesome.  However, the movie is even better, and I know that helps this bad boy along in it's awesomeness... but still.. am I right!?

Some of you have to agree with me on this one right? Granted there are other movie robots that can be mentioned (C3PO, Johnny 5, etc..) But for me, this one just does it!

Long day today, posting so that my few followers don't get weary going a whole day without robots, lasers, or computers on the blog.

I'll make it up to you guys tomorrow!

Keep up with the support, I love the comments!

"but this one goes up to 11.."

Today at work I dismantled an old laser pen that was laying around and saw that it had a little gain circuit that could be turned up/down.  "Hmmmm I thought.." TURN IT UP!

Am I right? Haha.

Heres the laser in pieces.

I was pewpewpew-ing around the office like nobody's business.

What else should I turn up to 11?

..for a mere 1300$ USD...

You too can have one of these puppies.

Apparently a Japanese company designed these wayyyyy back in 2008.  They can be controlled via Bluetooth and have a baffling 23 joints.  Too bad you'll have to fork over around 1300 bucks to have one of these bad boys at home to impress the ladies with.

Just think... you could be titillating your female companion on the couch; simply clap twice, shout "MORE CHAMPAGNE!", and drive your 1300$ robo buddy into the room.

There's my two cents; 'gimmie yours!

....so back in the day

Do you guys remember the show "Battle Bots"?  Used to be on the old TechTV if I remember correctly.  Classic show for sure.

Show some love for Battle Bots!

Alright, Maybe it's time....

...To share your robots!

I have an iRobot Roomba 530.  I absolutely love it!

It cleans in places I'm just too lazy to get to! As an added bonus, girls always love to check it out while they're over. Makes you look super awesome!

Comment if you've got a Roomba!
